Project 365 (#258 - #264)

Sunday ~ #258/365

Working with the kids each Sunday really wears Yohn out. If he chooses to stay up and watch a movie with the kids he usually ends up looking like this within just a few minutes :)

Monday ~ #259/365

And in this moment Yohn really freaked out. Can you tell why? Thankfully she was only like that for a second and recovered the strength to pull herself up again. Daddy really gave her a talking to about the neck scare.

Tuesday ~ #260/365

What a corny meal!
I couldn't help myself, when I decided to cook corn bread and then searched the cupboards for something to go with it, I saw that I had corn and corn bread muffin mix. Yeah, I know there should be some green in there but it was humorous nonetheless.

Wednesday ~ #261/365

Another lost tooth!

Thursday ~ #262/365

Happy Thanksgiving!
Both kids had a friend show up to play with on Thanksgiving day.

Friday ~ #263/365

We made pizza for lunch today with some Boboli pizza crusts. Let me just say now though that next time we'll make our own sauce because neither one of the kids liked the way the sauce tasted and while they ate some of their pizza, they didn't have seconds.

Saturday ~ #264/365

I taught the kids how to play Blockus on Thanksgiving evening and that's all they've been asking to play ever since. It was the very first thing we did Saturday morning, even before we ate! Elisha is actually doing really well now and I have to stop helping him or I'm gonna lose every game!
Now head on over to Sara's blog to see what great photos everyone else too this week!

50th Birthday Party

Gene's 50th can't be topped. I mean I know I might just be sayin' that, but it was a good one. He knew he was having a party but he didn't know the theme. Because he's such a huge movie buff, his wife decided on a Hollywood theme. In this picture he's signing his star on the walk of fame!

Susan had not yet seen his 50 in his hair so while he was signing his star she shouted out, "Oh my gosh, Babe! Your hair!"

50 candles!

No, he is not spitting on the cake to blow them all out.

(At least I don't think he did)

This is at the end of the party. Yes, Susan is dressed as Marilyn Monroe and those are Oscars. You can't see it in this picture, they are standing on the red carpet too.

Many of the guests who RSVP'd ahead of time received mini oscars for winning "their category". Yohn won for the best portrayal of Santa Claus. He was up against Tim Allen (from the Santa Clause series), Edmund Gwenn (from Miracle on 34th Street), and well, I can't remember the third one now, but I would vote for Yohn any day cuz' I think he puts in just as good a performance.

Enjoy being 50 Gene and may there be many, many more!

Project 365 (#251 - #257)

Sunday ~ #251/365

Elisha is still excited about the fact that the Giants won the World Series.

Monday ~ #252/365

We score free tickets to the Warriors game against the Pistons! The Pistons are my team but at half time they were down by 34 points... I was so sad. But at the end of the game it was 99-97 with 20 seconds remaining. And then... AND THEN... They missed the shot and fouled one of the Warriors played who promply made both free throws to put the nail in the coffin. But coming back from a 34 point deficit made it a very exciting second half of the game.

Tuesday ~ #253/365

Fall colors are everywhere!

Wednesday ~ #254/365

A beautiful sunset.

Thursday ~ #255/365

One of our good friends turned 50! His wife put on a Hollywood themed birthday party for him. It was so much fun!

Friday ~ #256/365

Friendship Stew at the kids' school. And they are officially out for Thanksgiving Break.

Saturday ~ #257/365

The kids' bookshelf was a mess. They had waaayyy too many books so we had to go through them all and decide which to keep and which to donate. It looks so much better now and they can manage it themselves.
And now I am headin' on over to Sara's blog to see what everyone else has been up to.

Oregon Vacation - Day 7

Okay so bear with me cuz' here I go again. Keep in mind that these pictures are from the fourth of July so I'm goin' waaaayyyy back.

Not the best picture of Yohn and I but Bethany wanted to get a birthday picture of me first thing in the morning.

We went to the fourth of July parade in Imbler and met up with our friends. That's their son Josiah waving at the fire truck with Elisha and Bethany.

Gathering up the candy.

That's my parent's one and only neighbor driving an old tractor in the parade.

I love this shot I took looking up at Bethany.

Jackie and her grandma (I think that was her grandma!).

The kids waving at Smokey Bear.

One float was tossing out stuffed animals and both kids managed to snag one.

All of us!

Later that night we sat around bundled up waiting for the fireworks.

My dad wasn't feeling too well so he and mom chose to sit in the van and wait it out.

I don't understand why, I mean who wouldn't want to sit in the cold in the middle of summer wearing pants and sweatshirts and bundled in blankets. I mean come on, it's makes a real fashion statement :)

As usual the fireworks display did not disappoint!

I Heart Faces - Silhouettes

Here's my entry for the Silhouettes Challenge. I remembered this photo from last December when we were in Malibu and thought it would be perfect!

Project 365 (#244 - #250)

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday ~ #244/365

You might not be able to tell from this picture, but Bethany lost another tooth. She lost it during children's church and then promptly dropped it on the floor. They stopped the service just to find it!

Monday ~ #245/365

I love you too!
(In case you couldn't tell she is saying I love you in sign language)

Tuesday ~ #246/365

Who knew that a phone book could be sooo much fun. Recently I decided to toss this phone book because I never use it and it's just taking up space. I get all the info I need off of google so why hang onto it? Well my daughter decided that it was a rare treasure and has played with it every day for the past week. She even took it to school and had all the kindergarten and first graders eating out of her hands at the things she could do with it. Amazing.

Wednesday ~ #247/365

Uh oh! We had a Shelter in Place warning in effect this evening because PG & E accidentally sucked the power from the refinery. If I had been thinking I would have taken a picture before we headed in doors, but since I didn't I took a picture of the pictures on the internet. Our church services were cancelled so we had a quiet family night at home.

Thursday ~ #248/365

Since the school is closed on Veteran's Day and we all needed to re-new our CPR certifications, guess what we did all day (or at least 6 hours of it)?

Friday ~ #249/365

Ummm... pay no attention to the un-vacuumed floor, okay?
Elisha got new shoes for basketball.

Saturday ~ #250/365

Genius me forgot to take my camera for Elisha's first game. Since when does that happen? Anyways here he is in his jersey, although his number may change because there are two 42's
(We accidentally registered late and I think his coach just grabbed a jersey that would fit him).

Head on over to Sara's blog for more great Project 365 pictures!
